The Cumming Farmers Market’s mission is to bring local farmers, cooks, and artisans together in order to provide fresh produce and goods to the community in an informal, unhurried setting.
The first MARKET DAY is Saturday, June 3, 2017 and will be open every Wednesday and Saturday morning (6:30-10:30am) until Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Cumming Farmer’s Market’s most intriguing asset is its untainted simplicity. The vendors have a deep, almost parental pride in their homegrown and homemade products. The loyal customers know this and that is why they consistently return on Wednesdays or Saturdays (or both days!)
Before the sun rises, the trucks, SUV’s and cars loaded with freshly picked produce and tasty baked goods will begin pulling into the parking lot across from the fair grounds. The rhythm of the morning begins as they each choose a parking place and begin to unload their folding tables, coolers, and boxes and make stunning displays of tomatoes, okra, baked goods, beans, peas, corn, potatoes, flowers, nuts, soaps, peppers, squash, zucchini, watermelon, potatoes, honey, mushrooms, plants, peanuts, sweet potatoes, canned jams and jellies and MORE. The parking lots’ line of hardwood trees provide the perfect shade from the now rising sun and within only minutes, the first customers arrive.
